Andre Stitt talk at Studio 18

Excellent talk by Andre Stitt about his new exhibition “Astro-Civics” at Studio 18 (usually home to Kevin Sinnott). He talked about Post-Modernism, moving from oils to acrylics , the urban architecture of the 60’s and 70’s, the subject of “new towns“, and a little of the politics that made them possible and also allowed them to fall into decay.

During the Q&A Andre was asked the significance of the objects that appear to be floating above the city scapes and decided to leave it to the viewer to decide.

They could be heavenly bodies, angels or alien invaders, droids and a representation of a future surveillance city scape. Who knows? The exhibition ends on the 1st October. You decide.

Studio 18 is owned and run by Kevin Sinnott.
