Garw Wombles

A little later than planned but we did it! With a couple of other very willing little assistants who I'd like to thank for all their help.

Today I took the kids for an amble in the glorious sunshine to enjoy the beautiful surroundings we live in, only to be reminded once again that people can be lazy, irresponsible, thoughtless cretins.
Tomorrow morning we shall be returning about 10am with bags to remove what we can of it.

I think this is the end of the road for me and the Garw Wombles. I was disheartened that nobody local turned up for the first event of the year that was advertised in the Post Office, Mamma Tans and the Con club.
Since 14th Feb I've been doing almost daily wombles along the path from Pontycymer Lake to Blaengarw Lake and back again but today it was particularly bad so I stopped. I considered that because it is clean that people think that littering is OK because it will get picked up. Who knows. ... See more
