The Garw Railway Spring Open Day

The Garw Railway Spring Bank Open day was a great success. A fun event with slush puppies, raffles, a newly opened Cafe Cabin for teas, coffees and snacks, the miniature railway, a Fire Engine…Steam & Diesel Engines, Sharks, the vintage coaches you might remember from your childhood, and more. The wise men and women volunteers were always at hand to answer any questions and chat about the project; restoring passenger train services between Pontycymer and Brynmenyn within the next 10 years, and the heritage it is entrusted with.

As well as being a local event the Spring Open Day brought in people from all over the UK, some as a far as Kent, and their website garwvalleyrailway.co.uk gets visitors from all over the world.

The next Bank Holiday open day will be the 27th August.
